Our coaching staff

Sage Flores

Sage Flores, a Port Lavaca, Texas native, played four years of varsity baseball at Calhoun High School before continuing his career at Texas College and Huston-Tillotson University. He also gained high-level playing experience with the Victoria Generals.

After his playing career, Sage moved to Austin, where he has spent the past nine years coaching and mentoring some of the top athletes in Texas. He currently serves as the Youth Director for Canes Southwest, continuing to develop the next generation.

Joey Soto

Joey Soto was born and raised in Eagle Pass, Texas.  He played collegiate baseball for two years at North Arkansas College and two years at Huston-Tillotson University.  He graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology.  Soto is currently in his first year coaching at Dripping Springs High School. He loves the game of baseball and is determined to help develop better athletes while supporting their growth on and off the field.

Sean Flores

Sean Flores is a former college baseball player with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, specializing in Exercise and Sport Science. He is currently pursuing his CSCS and SCCC certifications, along with a master’s degree, as he works toward a career as a collegiate strength and conditioning coach. His focus is on developing speed, strength, power, movement quality, and injury prevention.

Dustin Jourdan

Dustin Jourdan is a former collegiate pitcher who attended Bowie High School before competing at McLennan Community College and earning a scholarship to Ohio State University. As a freshman he made 22 appearances, leading the staff in appearances as McLennan finished runner-up in the Junior College World Series. In his sophomore season, he posted a 1.14 ERA. At Ohio State, he made 3 appearances, recording a save before undergoing Tommy John surgery and stepping away from playing.

Bill Cox

Bill Cox played his high school baseball at McCallum High School, where he earned all-district honors before continuing his career at Concordia University. During his collegiate career, he was recognized as an All-ASC West Division honorable mention pitcher and made a strong impact out of the bullpen, consistently limiting opposing hitters and contributing in key situations. With years of experience competing at a high level, Bill now brings that same knowledge and approach to coaching, helping players develop their skills, confidence, and understanding of the game.

Justin Elizondo

Justin Elizondo played his high school baseball at Austin High before continuing at McLennan Community College. After an injury cut his playing career short, he went on to graduate from the University of Texas with a degree in Sports Management. For the past six years, he has coached teams and worked with players in private lessons, focusing on building confidence, fundamentals, and a love for the game.

Michael Cantu

Cantu played in 140 games, earning 120 starts for the Longhorns under hall of fame head coach Auggie Garrido from 2015-17. Following his Texas career, Cantu played six seasons of professional baseball with the San Diego Padres organization, including four years in Triple-A. A native of Corpus Christi, Texas, Cantu resides in Austin with his daughter, Julietta.
